![]() I consider myself electronically inclined, so I can rule everything else out, I'll take the wheel apart and see what I can do. There is an issue with the hardware itself. ![]() ![]() The ports appear to be identical, but it's possible it's causing an issue (the adapter works fine for the joystick) It didn't come with the wheel, but from a joystick of the same series. I almost completely ruled this out, as for other people it was just plug and play ![]() I've tried it out in multiple 2.0 ports with no success. I only have USB 3.0 ports in my house, but I'm trying to get ahold of a laptop from a friend with a 2.0 port. I’m assuming that it is one of a few possible issues. I have tried multiple ports and 2 computers. However, I get a “USB Device not recognized” error, and when looking into it control panel states that the “device descriptor request failed”. I plugged in the pedals and power, then connected the game port to a game port to USB adapter I got from the MS Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick that looks exactly the same (shown below). I’m currently in a neck brace for a while and can’t drive, so I thought it would be fun to try out, especially considering that with hospital bills and insurance I can't really afford one. I recently found a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Steering Wheel in my grandparents garage.
